NUVO ED : PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CANCELLATION POLICY
(“Caregivers”) identifies the adult who has made the account to schedule lessons whereas (“Learner”) identifies the student/child. (“Educator”) identifies the OCT Certified Teacher. (“NUVO ED”), (“NUVO”) identifies the Corporation “NUVO ED : PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CORP.”
1. In the event the Caregiver/Learner (16 +) wishes cancel a lesson, the Caregiver shall give the Educator at least 24 hours’ notice. In the event that the Caregiver does not provide at least 24 hours’ notice of the need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, the Caregiver’s deposit for the lesson will not be refunded. In certain circumstances, NUVO may allow for rescheduling of the lesson at no additional fee on a 1x only basis.
2. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if the Caregiver consistently (2x) cancels scheduled lessons with an Educator, they understand that their account may be reviewed and put under suspension.
3. In the event the Educator must reschedule or cancel a lesson, the Educator shall give the Caregiver/Learner adequate notice and the lesson may be rescheduled up to 1x for a future date.
4. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if the Educator cancels a scheduled lesson with any Learner 2x (the same or different Learners), the Educator understands that their account will be suspended and they will be required to fill out a form to have their account reactivated should they continue to desire using NUVO’s Platform.
NUVO ED : PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CORP. GENERAL POLICY
(“Caregivers”) identifies the adult who has made the account to schedule lessons whereas (“Learner”) identifies the student/child. (“Educator”) identifies the OCT Certified Teacher. (“NUVO ED”), (“NUVO”) identifies the Corporation “NUVO ED : PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CORP.”
1. The Caregiver will ensure that a responsible adult is present at all times during Lessons. Educators cannot accept responsibility for child-minding or supervision of children in the absence of a responsible adult. Educators are providing customized instruction and should not be required to manage the Learner should they be distracted by television or otherwise.
2. NUVO ED and the Educators expect Learners to behave appropriately during lessons. Learner cell phones should be turned off. Educators will not enforce discipline. The Caregiver is responsible at all times to ensure that the Learner refrains from unruly or inappropriate behaviour. This policy will allow the Educator to leave the lesson should the Learner engage in behaviour that prevents a positive and successful learning environment.
3. The Caregiver hereby waives any claim it may have against NUVO ED: PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CORP. for losses incurred or damages suffered as a result of the provision of Education services pursuant to this agreement. The Caregiver further expressly agrees to indemnify NUVO ED with respect to any claim made by a third party against NUVO ED resulting directly or indirectly from the provision of Education services pursuant to this agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, this waiver and indemnification do not extend to deliberate acts of wrongdoing on the part of NUVO ED.
4. As a C2C company, NUVO ED : PRIVATE EDUCATION PLATFORM CORP. does not take responsibility for any inappropriate behaviour, losses incurred or damages suffered as a result of the link between the Educator and the Caregiver/Learner. The platform was developed to ensure a high level of security with recorded and encrypted video conferencing. Should either party (Caregiver, Learner, Educator) engage in behaviour that is unacceptable or inappropriate, they will be removed from the app permanently and NUVO ED agrees to provide any incriminating details should it be necessary.
4. This agreement shall be governed at all times by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
